Writing Your Story—Jason Berry, Sean Strub and Norbert Krapf

Poet Norbert Krapf, Catholic Boy Blues, and memoirist Sean Strub, Body Counts, discuss what it has meant in their lives to find the words that register the meaning of survival and what it takes to prevail over traumas of the past. The authors will read from their works and answer questions. Moderated by Jason Berry, author of several landmark books on abuse in the Catholic Church.

Catholic Boy Blues: A Poet’s Journal of Healing

Norbert Krapf, Indiana Poet Laureate 2008 to 2010, winner of the 2014 Glick Indiana Authors Award (Regional), reads from poems in the book in four voices (the boy, the man, the priest, and Mr. Blues, an advisor and healer), question and answer, and book signing.   Lynn Pittman, LCSW and Child Abuse Prevention Coordinator, Raina Jones from Family Service, Inc. will be present as local resources.  Viewpoint Books will have copies of Catholic Boy Blues for sale.

Diocese of Evansville Reading

The Diocese of Evansville sponsored an in-house reading of CBB poems to people who work for the diocese as teachers, school and diocese administrators, counselors of religious education, priests, and others. Discussion followed and The Message will run in its Nov. 21 issue a feature article about the reading and a review that will be available online,
